Jiggling the Air - with Mr. Gregg

Question: What do you call an electric powered air jiggler?
Answer: A SPEAKER!
Did you know that electricity and magnetism are so closely related, that we refer to them together as electromagnetism? There's really nothing tricky about an electromagnet. Here's one shown below.

Today, a former V-O parent visited the 5th grade to help students learn about SOUND!
We ripped apart a speaker to see how it was  made of simple construction paper and magnets.  The construction paper pushes the air (faster or slower depending on how much electricity is being pumped into it) and creates sound-waves that we can hear.
